Domain revenue is down, CTR are decreasing at record speeds and the SE Powerhouses (Google, Yahoo, MSN) are looking at domain revenue with more scrutiny than ever before. The name of the game has been shifted to create a well rounded user experience, and changed into providing content, unique content, if possible.
In an attempt to keeping the domain name owners “honest”, parking domains has been declared a very challenging proposition.
Noomle.com has listened to many of the concerns of domainers and has built an engine that provides ad-hoc development, while retaining all the important aspects the search engines are looking for.
Thousands of domainers are experiencing the downturn of the global economy first hand. Domain name values are down, revenue expectations had to be reduced and domain parking isn’t quite what it used to be.
Noomle.com’s founder and CEO, Rachid says: “We’ve experienced the full scale of changes to the domaining industry ourselves and went from parking domains to made for adsense to mini site development. No approach seemed to fully work in our favor”.
The internet powerhouses, Google, Yahoo, MSN are actively encouraging their advertisers to exclude parked domains from their advertising efforts. In addition, traffic to parked domains is coming purely through direct type in, since arbitrage has been commonly outlawed.
Made for adsense has been challenged due to its oftentimes non existing content, it’s also in a gray zone within the Google TOS and not a desirable way to present your domain.
Mini site development looked to be the most promising avenue, yet, it’s somewhat labor intense and requires a certain amount of development skills.
“It all didn’t quite jive [loss of traffic over time] or made any financial sense. The domain game is an ever changing environment, and due to its nature, the fastest changing environment a business owner can enter” says Rachid. “It was time to start something new, exciting, easy to use and financially affordable, or better yet, free of charge to the user.”
Noomle.com was created after looking at past and present success stories of hundreds of domainers and developers. What worked for them, how did they achieve success what will Noomle.com need to deliver to enable all domain owners to continue to succeed.
Ad-hoc development was the first and most important challenge. Creating multi site websites with the click of a few buttons, keeping the learning curve low and simplify the opportunities to customize web 2.0 templates.
Add custom content by simply copy/past action and wrap your personal Adsense or YPN code around it. Rachid admits, “It was certainly easier said than done. However, we’ve not stopped at initial development of the Noomle.com engine but have driven it much further. All you really need to know is how to change the Name Servers at your registrar; we’ll guide you through the rest”"
After just a few weeks of being publicly available, Noomle.com serves 12 languages, inclusion of multiple affiliate programs such as CJ, YouTube Paid Videos, Clicksor, Adbrite, Chitika and many more, and internal networking components that boost the SE indexing of domains hosted.
“Our main concern is to keep the Noomle.com engine fast, reliable, and geared towards revenue through content meshed with advertising”, says Eric, Chief of Staff and Developer at Noomle.com “We are firmly committed to setting new standards in the industry, while keeping the core services of Noomle.com free of charge to all domainers”.
Noomle.com appears to be on to something. Within a matter of weeks thousands of domains are hosted through the Noomle engine and new Noomlers come from all walks of life and portfolio sizes.
“We know how it feels, when you’d like to join a program and you’re asked to pay upfront, yet your domains are not generating enough revenue to validate the investment; we’ve been there. It hurts, especially when you own a large[r] portfolio.” says Rachid.
To generate revenue, Noomle.com is set up to accept voluntary donations from the user base. Simultaneously, the Noomle programmers are actively working on value added products that are optional and may ask for a nominal financial contribution.
“Having an international team of business advisors and organizational development consultants is guiding our progress to deliver a platform that stands out beyond the norm and addresses what’s really important to our community.†summarizes Rachid. “We’re here to stay, we’re committed to our business model and we’re looking forward to changing the standards of the domain industry. One domain at a time†–
the Noomle Team.
