Noomlers!
Recently, some of the changes in Noomle’s business plan have caused some confusion, questions and raised a few eye brows.
Given the increase in server load, hosted sites, pages served and security requirements, we have moved Noomle.com to a new, better server and continue to improve the engine itself.
At the same time, the upkeep of the Noomle engine is becoming more costly as days go by, and while we firmly stand behind the “free” model, we have found the need for a few revisions in the business model of revenue generation.
Presently, the Noomle engine is supported by your contributions in form of donations. In other words, contributing Noomlers are supporting the majority of the network. While some are donating more than once per month, others are unable to donate or simply cannot spare any funds at this time. We are not pointing fingers here, as we firmly believe that each Noomle user is doing as much as they can, the most recent threads regarding this topic have been ample proof of this.
During the server move and for apparent financial reasons, we’ve implemented restrictions for Noomle users who could not contribute. In the past days, we have worked on other financial solutions that will shape the future of the Noomle.com engine and the opportunities of its members.
The Noomle.com engine is going to implement CPM advertising into its business model. In short, CPM advertising stands for “Cost per thousand” – every thousand impressions (site views) that are being delivered through the Noomle.com engine, will generate revenue for Noomle.com.
However, while we are implementing a CPM advertising model, this model does not blanket all Noomle users, but applies only to the ones that are unable to contribute. One of the major changes under these inclusions are account levels:
The “Free” Noomler:
- Does not contribute/donate financially to the Noomle network
- Will see a Banner Ad located in the Footer of the site
o The Banner Ad is a CPM ad for which the Noomle.com engine will get paid
- Domain restrictions will be lifted, you’re welcome to add as many domains as you like
o No Adult Domains
o No Typo Domains
- No restrictions on the amount of articles, additional menus, etc.
Your domains will not be affected by this measure. At the same time, the Noomle.com engine generates revenue to stay financially afloat. And you, the Free Noomler remains just as such, a Free Noomle User.
The Contributing Noomler:
- Does contribute/donate financially to the Noomle network
- Will not see a Banner Ad in the footer of their sites
- Contributions of any value are good for 2 months and will receive:
o The Contributor Badge inside the forum
o Full Access to the all templates, including contributor templates and newly added templates
After 2 months or anytime before, the Contributor Noomler has the option to contribute/donate again (No pre determined amounts), a message will appear in your Admin Panel – or –
Drop down to Free Noomler:
- Access to the new contributor templates will be locked
- The Contributor Badge inside the forum will be removed
- Banner Ads will appear in the Footer of the domains
We believe that this solution is non obtrusive to your domains, designs and display of content, while simultaneously serving to keep the Noomle.com engine financially supported.
The CPM model will be activated on June 6th 2009 at 1am EST.
We are aware that this type of implementation may not suit everyone and we will, most likely, have a few raised eye brows again. Yet, given the success of the Noomle engine, undoubtedly enabled by you, the user, we have an obligation to keep the Noomle engine running strong, support the future additions of software and hardware and continue on our path of mutual business success.
We certainly continue to appreciate all present Noomle users who have joined us early on and welcome all future Noomle.com users who have an interest in retaining 100% of their earnings with no revenue split of any sort.
Noomle On!
